About Kothachitra

Why it was built

Bangla has plenty of quote apps and plenty of image apps — but they are different apps. You find the line in one, copy it into another, and that other one draws Bangla conjuncts badly. Kothachitra folds those two steps into one, and puts the Bangla text at the centre rather than at the edge.

Exactly how much is inside

Every number below is counted from the app's own code rather than estimated. When content is added, the numbers change with it.

• 1,508 quotes in 23 categories — 1,325 Bangla, 183 English
• 98 verses and duas with the Arabic original, the Bangla meaning and a reference
• 174 templates on 11 shelves — festivals, days, wishes, business, thumbnails and covers
• 46 gradients, 50 motifs, 18 frames and 32 stickers — all drawn as vectors
• 12 calligraphy styles and eight kinds of ink
• Eleven Bangla faces, eleven Latin and five Arabic, plus your own imported fonts

The rules it was built by

• Bangla first. No trick that breaks a conjunct is used — even when calligraphy bends a line, the whole line is laid out first and bent afterwards.
• What you make is yours. No image, text or favourite goes to a server — it is all made and kept on your own device.
• It has to work offline. The quotes, templates, motifs and frames all ship inside the app and need no connection.
• Exports are measured, not guessed. A card lands at exactly 300 DPI, and a 96 mm bleed width comes out at exactly 1134 px whatever the phone.
• Content is not filler. One concrete, recognisable line beats five interchangeable slogans, so bulk content was rewritten on the way in rather than pasted.

Who makes it

Kothachitra is made by Ms IT Xpress. The app is built with Flutter and is free on Google Play for Android.

Requests for new quotes, corrections and suggestions are all welcome. Which line gets added next is often decided by a user's email.
